New Covenant People, Part 3

Four Stages of Persecution  (The International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church)
11-4-2018

Hebrews 12:3 NIV
“Consider him (Jesus) who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.”

  1. Opposition: Jesus warned us if the world hated him, the world would hate us! Verbal attacks start, and the media become apart of the increase of verbal abuse and discrediting.

    Matthew 5:11 NIV
“Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me.

  2. Personal Slander: Rob your reputation, destroy your status, label you an enemy of the state.

    Acts 8:33 NIV
“In his (Jesus) humiliation he was deprived of justice.”

  3. Injustice: Second class citizen. ID cards, unfair legal treatment. Children tossed out of school. Unable to fine a job.

    Hebrews 13:3 NIV
“Continue to remember those in prison as if you were together with them in prison, and those who are mistreated as if you yourselves were suffering.”

  4. Mistreatment: The “BIG” Three – Torture, Imprisonment, Martyrdom.

Today we joined thousands of churches across the United States and the world in prayer for our persecuted brothers and sisters.

Persecution In Pakistan
Christians in Pakistan are routinely threatened and persecuted. They are often relegated to the lowest paying jobs and even to a form of slavery working for Muslim brick-kiln owners. However, they continue to serve and faithfully witness for Christ.
